Street art is truly the first global art movement fuelled by the internet. The internet has allowed people from all over the world to participate in what it is, essentially, an ephemeral art movement. It has allowed artist to share their work and, in doing so, inspire others to get involved. For galleries, the internet has given curators access to a wider group of artists. This has provided opportunities for artists that would have been unimaginable even twenty years ago. The rise in popularity and acceptance of street art are directly connected with the rise of the internet.

We strongly believe that street art should be admired from the streets so that you can fully see the context of the piece and how it changes over time. Although viewing the street art on the web has made art accessible, there’s always something lost: you don’t see the building, you don’t feel the warm breeze, you don’t see other passers-by react to the art. Many people are surprised when we say this because we have one of the largest street art websites, but it’s true.

Gustavo Pandolfo não gosta de falar de transição para a galeria. "São simplesmente coisas diferentes", argumenta. "Quando se tira o graffitida rua, que é de onde o vimos, deixa de ser graffiti.
